A list of words and phrases used in recipes, and what they really mean

What it means	Biscuit cutters come in all shapes and sizes. Some have straight edges and other ones have a wavey or crinkly edge. The ones with wavy edges are called 'fluted'. If a recipe tells use to use a fluted cutter, you can use a normal one as well - it wont matter.
